Thrifty Finds-Great Deals on Designer Style

It is raining storming here in KC today so I am using my time to get caught up on cleaning and organizing all of my goodies from the last few weeks of thrifting.
One thing to know about me is I absolutely {LOVE} farmhouse pitchers. It started back in 2007 when I was a consultant for AtHome America. They had a large variety of pitchers in the catalog and I fell in love. The first one I bought was a white pitcher that looked like an old enamelware farmhouse pitcher and I loved it. From that point forward I am always on the lookout for farmhouse or vintage water pitchers.
Here is a sage green pitcher I recently found at the thrift store.  I was drawn to its curvy design, especially the handle and spout. I also like the soft green color so I knew it had to come home with me and to display on my bowl rack.

Here it is on top of the rack. The small spot on top is perfect for this pitcher.

Then next to it was this white pitcher. Whats not to love about a classic white farmhouse pitcher? The curvy lines and tone on tone beading make this one a beauty.

See the beading detail?

Then there are these guys. Old bowls. These are not antique but they have the same look and I got the set of four for about $3-$4 bucks! They also go nicely with my other antique style bowls.

If you like these bowls, you will quickly discover how pricey the REAL antique bowls can be which is why I decided to stick with the replicas. ...and the good thing about these is that they look so real!

Here they are on the bottom of the bowl rack. Their colors coordinate with the rest of my bowl collection.

And here is everything in its place and displayed on the bowl rack.

Ok, so then comes the rest of my goodies.  I found this small bench at a local thrift store and all it needs is a cleaning and new cushion. I really like the detail on the sides and the distressing. This will make for a fun "mini" makeover project too! All I gotta do is find the right material for the top and I have everything else I need to spruce up this cutie!
And once I am done with her the hardest part will be deciding on whether or not to keep her for the foot of our bed, or to sell her in my shop. (I'm working on opening up a booth sometime soon).

See the detail? So cute!

Then gasp! There was this basket at Savers that I had to have. Its like a vintage market basket with a sturdy base and handles and it will look great holding towels, fresh flowers, or magazines. This is a very versatile basket and I can't wait to use it!

And of course this large black wrought iron candelabra. We have two fireplaces and this will look great on either mantel so all I need to do is clean it up and it will be ready for show this Christmas time.

I just love the scroll work and weight of this piece!

And then, as I was combing through the linens at the local thrift shop I found a long burlap table runner with black ticking on the sides with this Paris logo. Absolutely adorable! It is from Hobby Lobby, not handmade, but its perfect for our long dining room table and I was going to make one like this down the road.....its on my project list, but now all I want to do is add a few ruffles to each end and bam! Project complete!

Then a I came across this cigar box from Chile which was a unique find. I'm not sure what I will do with it but I have some ideas for it so in the cart it went.

I was also happy to see this set of white batter bowls that are brand new WITH the tags still on!

AND this cute black and white zebra print rug.

The rug will add some whimsy to our home and I'm thinking about dying it beige to tone down the black and white contrast, but we'll see. It was in great shape and a good deal so I can't wait to play around with it and find it a home.

Animal print is always a classic print and can found all throughout the design world in clothing and home decor. It can also be incorporated with other patterns too, so don't shy away from prints like this. If you are unsure, try to do like I did and find them on sale or for cheap at a garage sale or thrift store.
Here is an example from West Elm. They added the zebra print rug in a room with neutrals to add some fun and interest.
This is how I want to use my rug and I'm thinking if it was died beige so the print was beige and black, it would probably go better with our decor. I'm excited to play around with it, and at $2 dollars, its no biggie if it doesn't turn out the way I want.

The same day I found the rug I also found these towels, and classic white mugs from Pottery Barn. The towels are brand new, never used, and the mugs are simple and will look great with my red and white Christmas decor.

The past couple weeks to a month have been full of great deals, but I noticed this past week there wasn't much out there at the place I go, but patience is the key when it comes to thrifting. So until next week....

Thrift on my friends, thrift on!
Jennifer
