Pom Pom Coffee Filter Wreath

Hello my lovelies! I don't know about you but I am sure anxiously awaiting Spring to arrive! We had another mild winter here in KC and these warmer temps are fueling my excitement about the tulips and daffodils that will soon visit us.

In the mean time, I decided to get a jump start on a small Spring project that I have thought about doing for some time now. This one is an easy DIY project you can do while munching on snacks and watching The Bachelor. (wink, wink)

A while back I posted that I was playing around with my scrap fabric making rosettes and coffee filter flowers....you can see how they turned out HERE.

....and I have seen several versions of these wreaths around blog land and Pinterest so I thought I would give it a try and share the tutorial with you.

DIY Coffee Filter Flowers

Now here is how I made my wreath.

Start with a round wreath form. (I cut mine out of an old cereal box using a circle template from my scrapbooking supplies.)

Cut it out like so.....

Then take your coffee filters one at a time and fold......

Fold the coffee filter into half, then again, then a third time, then cut slits to make your fringe......

After that it should look similar to this,
now fold the point over and glue with a dab of hot glue.....

Then fluff your flower and hot glue it to the wreath form. Repeat the steps for each flower and your wreath will begin to take shape, flower by flower......

Fluff as you go and finally, after about 20 coffee filter flowers, you will have this....

I decided to add some hot pink burlap ribbon to it and hang it up.

Voila! Here is my pom pom coffee filter wreath hanging on the door of our china hutch.

So there ya have it. Easy, cheap, and so fun to make! I think I will make a few more before Spring is here!

Have a wonderful week and happy Valentines Day!!!!

Jennifer

  8. I don't drink coffee, but my husband does. So I used the coffee filters for a neat project. This morning he was not pleased to find the empty box! I will have to buy my own for this wreath!
