Patio Table Makeover Using DecoArt Outdoor Paint

After my huge tree trimming project, it was time to spruce up the patio furniture and get ready for Summer entertaining.

Unfortunately, I was surprised to see the toll that old man Winter had on my Adirondack chair and table set.

Look at that worn wood! Ugh....

Turquoise Adirondack Chairs

I had spray painted it before but never covered up the table when the weather changed
so it was exposed to all the snow and ice storms
this past Winter
and was in dire need of some TLC.

So when I had the opportunity to try out the outdoor paint line by DecoArt called Patio Paint I knew exactly where I was going to use it!

The base and legs are metal and had been sprayed
Oil Rubbed Bronze and were in great shape so its just the table top I am going to freshen up.

To begin I cleaned off my little patio table with a damp rag and let it fully dry.

Then I used a paper plate like an artist's pallet and brushed on the paint with a basic paint brush.

I had chosen two different hues of turquoise
(Coastal Surf and Blue Bahama),
but wanted to add a bit of surprise to the color scheme so I painted the middle board a mixture of the
Apple Green and Blue Bahama, with a dab of Cloud White.

My first pass looked a bit too yellow, or neon green-ish
so I dry brushed more of the Blue Bahama to
tone it down a bit.

And now here's how it looks:

The paint is SUPER easy to apply .....NO PRIMER NEEDED, and dries fairly quickly too, which is a plus!

I don't know about you, but I am always so anxious to see how my completed projects turn out
and hate when I have to wait forever for paint to dry,
so this really made my work go so much faster
than with other paints so that was a
MAJOR plus for me.

Another great thing about the Patio Paint line by DecorArt is that there are SO many colors to choose from and they're so rich and vibrant!

You see that I only had two small tubes of the turquoise colors and I only used half of each tube and just a squirt of the Apple Green color and white for this entire table project.

I also painted the terracotta pot on the table with the
Cloud White and no primer was needed.

It just brushed right on and covered beautifully and has held up with all the rain and thunder storms we have had lately.

This paint has amazing adhesion and really provides a nice protective layer on the wood so you can run your hard right over it and there are no splinters or rough pieces sticking out.

Here is the before and after:
(what a difference!)

I never thought about using Decoart for my outdoor projects before until now, and now I am hooked on this paint!

I no longer have to spent a ton of money on buying a quart or gallon of outdoor paint at my local hardware store just to paint something small like I did here with my patio table.

I used three colors so it would have cost quite a bit just to do this table had I purchased regular outdoor paint at the hardware store,

but Decoart Patio Paint line is available in both the large bottle or the small tubes so it is PERFECT for large
OR small
outdoor projects like flower pots, tables, birdhouses,
and yard art!

I love how my table turned out and how great it looks now with my Adirondack chairs!
