Master Bath Update

Back in the Summer I posted pictures of our hall bathroom update (which still needs a few more finishing touches before it is complete), then a week ago I posted about adding bead board wall paper to our half bath, and now I am going to share with you our master bathroom update. I know, I may ask many bathrooms does this woman have???!!!!  Well the literal answer to that question is 3 full baths and 2 half baths. This is because we own two houses. His and hers kind of you will see various bathroom updates over the course of this next year as I continue updating our house together and continue updating my house that we are preparing to sell some time soon.
Soooo, as I mentioned before, the house we live in now, together, is the house that Mr. Chaos bought/built when he was single. And ladies, we all KNOW how bachelor pads often look. Thankfully Mr.Chaos worked a lot and was a neat freak so the house was barely used, however some "not so great" decorating decisions were made like the walls were painted with FLAT WHITE PAINT. Need I say more?
So its no secret that after I moved in I have been working hard to turn these four walls into a warm and inviting home.
Throughout this journey we have made several updates which includes painting EVERY

room in the house! Yes, EVERY room got a fresh coat of paint last year and ever since then I have been working hard to tackle one room at a time (frugally) but it has been challenging at times.

The bathroom I want to share with you today is our master bath and we decided to paint it a soft green color that is a few shades lighter than the olive green we painted our bedroom so we keep the flow from room to room. We also felt green was a soothing color for the bedroom and bathroom that we spend the most time in thus we wanted something that was semi-masculine but also gave off a spa-like vibe.

So to start the tour I will walk you through the master bedroom into the we are in the bedroom looking in:

To the left is the closet door where I hung a gooseberry wreath. The green color and natural textures add interest and soften the room. And on a side note........if you have never hung wreaths on the INSIDE of your doors, then I hope you give it a try. I love how they brighten up a space and make it look so inviting.

This bathroom has a vaulted ceiling, and lots of hard angles from the square mirrors, window, and shower doors so I felt it desperately need some floral to soften up the hard angles.

And here is the main focal point wall and art work that took Mr. Chaos a YEAR to hang up! ...But he finally did and we both love it. This iron work is not too girlie and not too masculine...its just right.
Some vases and willow to add texture and interest to Mr. Chaos' vanity.

I use glass jars to organize my toiletries....these jars also add to the spa feeling. Then we added brown towels that coordinate with our brown and green color scheme.

This rug was actually the VERY first thing we purchased for the bathroom. It had all the colors in it that we were aiming for AND a sight floral vibe as well. Both of us liked it so it was a winner in our book!

Here is a picture of everything, all together. (Sorry about the lighting!)

We have a lot of updates still to do but I wanted to show you some of the things we have completed off of our to-do list:

  • Painted
  • Changed out rugs
  • Changed out towels
  • Hung focal point art work
  • Incorporated new accessories
So what is left you might ask?

  • Add towel rack/hanger of some sort
  • Add cabinet in toilet room
  • Clean light fixtures
  • Add curtains/window treatment of some sort
  • Frame the mirrors

So once we get the rest of the bathroom completed I will give you a final tour, but for now this is a sneak peek into our master bath with the updates we have  done so far.

The color that we used is called Restful by Behr (400F-4).
It is a grayish green and looks great against white and silver.

So there ya have it! Mid-way through updating our master bathroom. Our goal is to have it completed by the end of the you will definitely see more of this bathroom once it is done!!!

As for our hall bathroom update, you can check it out here.

Have a wonderful weekend!
