Thrifty Finds

I hear LOTS of you in blogland tell stories about your collection of ironstone but I rarely come across any of it when I am out thrifting.....that is until recently. As I was walking thru the GWill I stumbled across this adorable duo. I naturally gravitated towards them because they were green and yellow and the dominant color in my kitchen is green, so they caught my eye. I put them in cart and it wasn't until I was at the checkout line inspecting my goods before paying that I realized they were ironstone!

I was curious about their age and origins so when I got home from thrifting I did some research and looked them up on the internet and found out they were made in the 70s. (I was made in the 70s too so that tells you how old they are!!!!) LOL :)
So I hand washed them and they sit on the dining room hutch with some other dishes and glassware. I love them and now I'm on the lookout for another pair to display!

During one of my latest adventures in thrifting I also came across this ole gal that was calling my name. She was dirty, beat up, and seen better days but I had visons of her beauty and all that she can be so I had to bring her home with me!!!

I already have BIG plans for this ole gal so stay tuned....its going to be a suprise!

Then last but not least, as I was making my way back home, I stoped by the hardware store and snaged up two hanging baskets. Since its so late in the season all of the plants were 50% off so I treated myself to two basekts. Not bad at ALL at 50% off peeps! Now is the time to snag the deals!

Since our front door is red I am going to put this one in front-

And her sister in the back next to my birdbath. She can keep it company until I plant more stuff back there! LOL

Thats all for Friday! TGIF everyone and enjoy your weekend!
